FoHRSA at COP 29

Inter-American Board of Agriculture (IABA) Resolution #545 proposed “[the creation of] a Hemispheric Fund for Agricultural Resilience and Sustainability in the Americas, which will seek to facilitate the participation of smaller countries with less economic clout in collective actions”.

IICA Executive Committee Resolution #718 supported the proposal to “create the Hemispheric Fund for Agricultural Resilience and Sustainability in the Americas (FoHRSA) as a multilateral cooperation mechanism designed to benefit agrifood systems of the Americas at the national and multinational levels…” and “[t]o urge the Member States, Associates and Permanent Observers, as well as other international organizations, to join the Institute in its efforts to identify, negotiate and approve resources that can add to this Fund”.

COP 29 appears to be the ideal scenario to present this initiative and all are invited to join the FoHRSA Fund.
